Badger Meter, Inc. announced OneNetwork, a real-time network monitoring and analysis platform for water distribution, wastewater collection and stormwater systems. The software is designed to provide utility teams with a unified, real-time view of network assets and sensor data, consolidating information that is often dispersed across separate systems. The company unveiled the platform during the WEFTEC water sector event.
OneNetwork is positioned to integrate Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), network monitoring and water quality data so that utilities can detect issues sooner, coordinate their response faster and make operational decisions based on a common picture of system conditions. The company indicates that the platform does not require users to replace existing SCADA or GIS investments, allowing utilities to leverage current infrastructure while gaining a consolidated operational view.
The launch extends the capabilities of the Badger Meter BlueEdge portfolio, which includes smart water management technologies, software and services aimed at continuous water management. By further connecting these tools, OneNetwork is intended to help utilities understand overall network health and performance, supporting the goal to see conditions clearly, act quickly and manage more effectively.
The platform is presented as a response to fragmentation in utility operations, where SCADA systems, GIS platforms and point sensors frequently do not interoperate. That lack of connectedness can slow response to network events such as main breaks, water quality or pressure anomalies. Consolidating data and analytics is intended to enable targeted operational response and to help prioritize capital investments where they are most needed.
Features emphasized for OneNetwork include:
- Integration with AMI to unlock additional operational value from smart metering programs.
- A single operational view across network data sources, reducing time spent switching between systems.
- Improved situational awareness via real-time event alerts and advanced analytics, with built-in workflows to manage main breaks, water quality events, pressure transients and non-revenue water spikes.
- Interactive, GIS-based alarm indicators with a live map showing current conditions across distribution or collection networks.
- Centralized alarm reporting with contextual chart overlays for severity, and drill-down views to individual sites and asset-level details.
- Filtering tools to locate relevant assets by pipe material, age, size, valve type and repair history.
- Operational efficiencies in the field by turning static asset records into tools for ongoing monitoring and management.
The company describes the broader need OneNetwork addresses as not a shortage of data, but rather the challenge of synthesizing disconnected datasets into a shared, real-time operational picture. By offering a common view, the software is intended to support earlier detection of issues, faster cross-team response and coordinated action.
Badger Meter plans an initial rollout of OneNetwork to North American water and wastewater utilities beginning in September 2026, with plans to expand availability globally.
